Treating TMJ With Poetry Proves Ineffective

Things You'll Need To Treat TMJ, according to the LiveStrong website:

Bite guard
Muscle relaxant
Tricyclic antidepressants
Corticosteroids and botulinum toxin

Things They Don't Mention You'll Need:

Hope. Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul that blah blah blah.
An Emily Dickinson blow up doll.

  1. Completely unpoetic, but I strongly recommend glucosamine. (You can get it OTC in giant bottles at Costco.) I was taking it for a bad knee -- it's essentially the lubricant our joints produce naturally -- and it did WONDERS for my tmj. Hope this helps.

  2. Oh. I am SO GLAD I thought twice before mentioning aloud what my TMJ specialist told me: computer time makes TMJ worse b/c you clench your jaw during screen time.

    Who knew.

So glad I kept that to myself.

    Did I just say that?

Your sister in the spoons way of life, always.

    I think you are incredible.
